Permethrin is a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain chrysanthemum plants. Permethrin has been successfully used in the United States as an U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered product since 1977, with an excellent safety record. It is used in lice shampoos for children, flea dips for dogs, and various other products, some of which are regulated by the FDA.

My Take on the Product I was provided a shirt to wear and I have to say that I was quite impressed. The shirt was lightweight and durable and I already wore it once into an are of the woods behind my own home that tends to get buggy and I was impressed to find that the bugs were notably less aggressive than they normally have been in the past, and I was wearing nothing else to keep them away besides this shirt. I liked the fact that they have so many different materials and items now that are protected by insect shield. Items for children and adults, they run the gamut.
I know for me I will be wearing this shirt a lot over the summer months, not only for its comfort, but also for its ability to keep me itch free.
