Tough cookie: Jessie J played the Capital Radio Summertime Ball at London's Wembley Stadium tonight despite being in agony after she ruptured tendons in her foot rehearsing yesterday
She'd been left in excruciating pain just 24 hours earlier after falling from a platform and tearing tendons in her foot while rehearsing for the show at London's Wembley Stadium - but nothing was going to stop Jessie J performing tonight at her biggest gig to date.
The Do It Like A Dude star had been putting the finishing touches to her routine for tonight's Capital Radio Summertime Ball when she slipped and ended up in hospital.
But the 23-year-old showed she was made of tough stuff tonight and walked onstage heavily bandaged up, before singing the rest of her set while sat on a throne.
Smiling through: Even though she was close to tears with the pain, Jessie was in fine voice as she performed for 75,000 at Capital Radio's Summertime Ball
Wearing a black knitted bejewelled bodystocking, she managed to stand unsupported to sing Do It Like a Dude, before holding onto the throne and finally giving in and sitting down on it.
She explained to the 75,000 music fans crammed into the stadium for the Capital Radio organised show: 'I fell off the stage and mashed up my foot - I ruptured all tendons in it.
'I was told to stay at home. But I said are you crazy? I'm not letting down my fans. I did ask for a crystal sock (to cover the bandage) but this is all they had.'
On the throne: The star had tried to stand up at the start of the show but was too much in pain so sat on her rather fancy chair
Despite the untimely accident the London-born singer was in fine voice as she gave a stunning rendition of new single Nobody's perfect.
Clearly in a lot of pain. She looked close to tears however as she said: 'Sometimes its best to follow the doctors orders. Why couldn't I be an artist who just wears trainers?!'
She confessed to the crowd: 'I wanna do the next song but I'm scared,' before pausing for a drink of water, then launching into emotional ballad Who You Are.
She wrote on her Twitter afterwards to her fans, who she calls Heartbeats: 'Wembley stadium #STB #heartbeats I love you. Most amazing moment in my life. Bruck (sic) up foot and all.. Thank you. Thank you for it all. Thank you for supporting me :) I am truely (sic) touched.'
Hospital dash: Jessie J, seen here at the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards 2011 in London earlier this week, was rushed to hospital tonight
Stylish: The star, who picked up the Woman Of Tomorrow award at Tuesday's Glamour Women Of The Year Awards, showed off a softer more feminine style
Other stars on the bill of tonight's mammoth pop extravaganza Summertime Ball included Jennifer Lopez, LMFAO, Cee Lo Green, Nicole Scherzinger, JLS, Enrique Iglesias, The Wanted, Ne-Yo, Katy B and Example.
